Learning Opportunity
Creative Meet-ups
We invite you to drop in to our monthly gatherings, joining a growing group of creatives and artists who are intrigued by "finding the magic when you are not looking for it". Observing your surroundings with a strong sense of awareness, focusing on details, relationships, and the emotional impact of what is seen... this is an important practice for Sensing the Bioregion.

Gentle arts-led, place-based explorations in good company
People often ask, "What does BLC do"? One way to find out is to spend time with us in the art room or other enjoyable spaces, or out and about.
If we explore diverse experiences of place as part of an arts-led process that sits alongside mapping, data and evidence, we'll better understand what 'here' is. If we understand this better, we'll see potential, such that a relevant case can be built for resourcing the collective potential of a whole place to support life.
This is something we are exploring in a deeper way through a series of workshops called 'Cultivating the We' across South Devon, inspired by artistic practices we have been exploring collectively to date - noticing, listening, and responding to place. Our 1-day workshop pilot on Friday 30th January is an extension of our usual Meet-ups in the Art Room at the Mansion in Totnes - a one-day creative workshop from 10am to 5pm (instead of our usual 10-1pm). No artistic background is needed. The focus is on process rather than skill, and on shared experience rather than individual outcomes.
BLC puts on events that are either free (like the Creative Meet-ups), by donation or just to cover our costs. For this special workshop we are asking for a minimum donation of £10. Cash on the day is fine, we'll also let you know when we have set up an online payment method.
We will post future workshops here. And meanwhile our Friday morning gatherings will continue.
Free, bring materials and your own enquiry or art practice.
